Dani Mitchell
She is young, madly ambitious, and at a high point in her reporting career. Her assignment is an exclusive interview with Elvis Presley, but he is nowhere to be found! Her efforts to track down The King lead her into a web of NASA deception, and the bed of one of NASA's big brains. Will she discover what the connection is and win a Pulitzer, interview a group of long-haired British rockers instead, or simply go crazy?
Peter Dixon
An Elvis fanatic and the #2 man at NASA, his dedication to the first moon landing is topped only by his collection of Elvis memorabilia. He is a brilliant thinker, but if he lets his lonliness get the best of him, he may betray the mission. The stress is no good for his ulcer, which is getting worse every day.
Jack Monroe
The NASA Administrator and former advisor to JFK rides in a limo everywhere he goes and never has a hair out of place. His goal is to embarrass the Soviets and win the space race with a sensational moon landing sure to go down as the greatest moment in history. But when things don't go his way, he reveals his political side, ready to sacrifice the truth to save his reputation.
Moja
He carves the legendary Ivory Elvis statuette in his Masai village in Tanzania, and barely escapes with it when the settlement is razed by poachers. Moja then parts ways with his Ivory Elvis, and when he meets it again years later, he learns about the downside of fame and fortune.
The King
He is recruited by Monroe and Dixon for a very special mission. Elvis is always willing to serve his country...even if it means going on a diet.
